How much can I get done?
How many sleepless nights will it cost me?
Will I get to show my stuff to its intended viewers?
Will they like it?
If they do, CAN I HAVE A JOB?
Yet and still, I'm more light-hearted than I've ever been heading out to the Con. It's been one of the more hectic years: changed jobs, lost a good friend, made a lot more (Thanks, Deviants!) but most of all, really got my head screwed on artistically. Suddenly, I find my self leaping headfirst into my work, not stressing, or sweating the small stuff or what I can't change. It not only feels great, but I'm just a lot happier with what I've been putting out. Plus, I've discovered enough ways to keep myself drawing to set me up for the next two Cons, if not more (thanks again, DA!)
So I'm just in a mellow mood, watching the clouds roll over the mountains below. I can't wait to touch down. I can't wait to see my old friends, teachers and peers. I can't wait to hang with the SCAD mob, and toast the first round of drinks and cigars to my boy Jeremy's memory. Maybe I'm just in a different place right now.
Or maybe it's just that I have to use the john...
